To assess local needs for the implementation of the Participatory, Inclusive and Green Recovery for Local Public Services in the Earthquake-Affected Region (PACE) Project and to promote the project locally, technical field visits were conducted to Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş on March 18, 2025, and to Hatay on March 19, 2025.
The visits included meetings with local government representatives, civil society organisations, and business organisations in the earthquake-affected region to assess the needs and priorities of local public services, capacity development processes, and post-earthquake recovery efforts.
During the visits, PACE Project was introduced and discussions were held to develop recovery proposals aligned with the PACE Project framework. During field visits, earthquake-related damage, recovery efforts, and ongoing infrastructure projects were observed on-site.
PACE project is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, coordinated by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs (DEUA), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
