PACE Project Holds Performance-based Budgeting (PEB) Training

As part of the Participatory, Inclusive and Green Recovery for Local Public Services in the Earthquake-Affected Region (PACE) Project, Performance-Based Budgeting (PEB) training was held with the participation of local governments in the earthquake-affected provinces of Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Malatya from October 21 to November 4, 2025. The training aimed to increase the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of local financial management by strengthening the capacity of municipalities and relevant administrations to implement performance-based budgeting principles.

Three metropolitan municipalities, one special provincial administration, one provincial municipality, and 22 district municipalities participated in the training. A total of 217 personnel from 73 units benefited from the training.

Participating institutions included metropolitan, provincial, and district municipalities from the provinces of Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya, as well as the Adıyaman Provincial Special Administration.

PACE project is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, coordinated by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs (DEUA), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
