
The second part of the field visits, launched to identify local needs for the implementation of the Participatory, Inclusive and Green Recovery for Local Public Services in the Earthquake-Affected Region (PACE) Project and to promote the project on the local level has taken place in Adıyaman and Malatya, on March 25-26, 2025. PACE project is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, coordinated by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs (DEUA), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
During the visitsproject-related information was shared concerning the work to be carried out, and views were exchanged on how to develop proposals aligned with the PACE project framework.
Local government representatives, civil society organisations, and business organisations in the earthquake-affected region were interviewed to assess the needs and priorities of local public services, capacity development processes, and post-earthquake efforts.
Furthermore, field surveys included on-site observations of earthquake-related damage, recovery efforts, and ongoing infrastructure projects.
