“All for Rights, Rights for All” Project Closing Meeting

The closing meeting of All for Rights, Rights for All Project which was implemented by Turkey Youth Union Association in partnership with Kadir Has University Center for International and European Studies (CIES) and Romania Partners Foundation for Local Development (FPDL) was held in Kadir Has University Cibali Campus on December 14, 2015.

The meeting started with the briefing of the project director Elif Serbest and CIES representative Simla Yavaş about the 14-month project process and the project outcomes. Following the briefing, a panel session was held in which the trainers and participants shared their experiences about the process and discussed their personal and institutional gains, collaboration and dialogue they developed with other CSOs and their targets.

The project brought together CSOs working in the fields of youth and rights of persons with disabilities to join forces for rights-based fight of the disabled. Six trainings on “Monitoring and Advocacy for Disabled Rights” were organized within the scope of the project and a total of 120 disabled and nondisabled young people from different provinces participated in these trainings.

Participants had the opportunity to learn from each other the problems and needs of different disabled groups while learning methods of rights-based advocacy and anti-discrimination. They broke down prejudices and established both personal and inter-organizational sustainable partnerships.
