I can work!

Civil Society Dialogue’s “I Can Work!” Project is assessing the current situation of disabled workers in national and international law and national policies under the coordination of Turkey Spinal Cord Paralytics Association. An international seminar is being organized on 2-3 October 2015 in Istanbul.

100 participants from various civil society and public organizations will get together for this activity. A panel is being organized for the first day and the results of the “Current Policies about the Employment and Working Conditions of Individuals with Disabilities” reports prepared in Romania, England and Turkey under the project will be shared.  In the last session of the panel, Prof. Dr. Murat Engin will be comparing the results from the above mentioned countries and performing an important analysis study.

Workshops in 4 different areas are planned for the second day of the activity.

1) Legal Regulations for the Promotion of the Employment of Individuals with Disabilities;

2) Social Security Rights of the Disabled Individual;

3) Physical Access Problem in the Employment of Disabled Individuals and Suggested Solutions;

4) Working Disabled Individuals’ Fight for Rights: Union activities.

A joint declaration will be prepared at the end of these discussions and it will be shared with the relevant institutions.
