Energy of Youngsters Sprang to Life in Recoopgreen Project

Renewable Cooperation & Sustainable Partnerships between Green Cities project or, shortly, Recoopgreen completed its 14-month project period with a conference and training course. More than 550 people including representatives from Gaziantep University, Governor’s Office, Metropolitan Municipality and Silkroad Development Agency attended the closing conference organised in Gaziantep.

During the conference where international experiences were mainly shared, energy needs and alternative renewable energy sources were discussed. Turkey’s status in terms of renewable energy was analysed. Supporting young entrepreneurs through on-the-spot examination of best practice examples concerning renewable energy in European countries and the establishment of partnerships in this area were among the objectives of the project contributing to the granting of Green City status to Gaziantep.

Also aiming to increase the number of studies performed in this field by revealing the potential of renewable energy, Recoopgreen assembled 25 engineers, academicians and entrepreneurs 7 of which were foreigners within the scope of the training course as the final activity of the project. During this training event executed by TAŞEV Education Culture and Youth Association with its partner from Hungary, a wide range of topics from agriculture to renewable energy, cyber technology and renewable energy were discussed within the framework of “renewable energy”.

Within the scope of the project, 4 training events organised in cooperation with KOSGEB (SME Development Authority) and intended for youngsters, with a total duration of 10 days each, ensured access to 100 people while 500 people were reached with Rüzgar Gülü (Pinwheel) Festival.
