Food Safety Project conducted its first international meeting in Valencia, Spain

The grant beneficiary SETBİR came together with the project partner FEDACOVA (Valencia Regional Food Business Federation) with a committee of eight. The committee gathered information about the EU food safety regulations and practices and visited a facility producing cheese and milk puddings and observed healthy production, food safety and labelling practices.

Under the scope of the project, the committee visited the Ainia Technology Center which currently works on nutrition and health; food quality and safety; industrial design and production; sustainability; food legislation activities; consumer taste tests and analytic services, as well as providing solutions for innovation needs of SMEs in Spain. Afterwards, the committee visited Europe’s most modern and biggest slaughterhouse, the Martinez Lariente and gathered information about the carcass classification system implemented in EU..

The Food Safety Project which aims to strengthen the communication and collaboration between CSOs working in Turkey and the EU in the field of food safety and additives, also observed the milk products in Spain. The committee members gathered information about the best practices, job security, and labelling at the biogas plant in the Granja San Ramon Requena milk farm, and the Danone plant.
