Rural Development with Local Products Project continues its activities. Turkish experts who were trained by the Italian trainers on prickly fig cultivation, started to transfer information in the region to the farmers.

A prickly pear cultivation training was held in Mersin Erdemli Tömük Yeşildere district where the fields are idle due to microclimate problems. Ways of obtaining economic income from these fields were discussed.

Following the  small-group trainings, the first modern-technique prickly fig plantation is performed in Erdemli Kargıpınarı district.
