Solar Energy & Energy Efficiency Project visited Rome!

Within the scope of the project conducted by by Karşıyaka Sustainable Energy Foundation, a group of fifteen people received training on renewable and solar energy in Rome. The group, which consisted of individuals of many backgrounds and professions, visited the Committee of Environment, Territory, and Public Works of the Italian Parliament. The Committee President, Ermete Realacci, informed the group about the current situation about solar energy and future scenarios.

The group also visited one of Europe’s biggest power plants, Montaltodi Castro and received presentations on solar energy and energy efficiency from environmental, economical, technical, legal, and civil society perspectives. The presentations were supported by a technical tour of Vatican City which included solar panel implementations.

Hüsnü Yardımcı, the project coordinator, stated that they will pass on their newly obtained information and experiences to the respective committees. He also added that they were planning a 4-day renewable energy and solar energy festival at the end of the project after the activities in 8 districts of İzmir are completed.
