“Turkey Greece Media Bridging Project” ended with friendship and peace talks!

“Turkey Greece Media Bridging Project” which was conducted by Aral Group in collaboration with A4 Art Design from Greece under the scope of Civil Society Dialogue Program, ended with “Friendship and Peace Talks Between Two Countries” panel on December 18, 2015.

During her opening remarks, the project’s coordinator Arzu Akgün mentioned that they conducted a wide range of activities to reach their targets and they performed archive quality studies.

Turkish and Greek panelists shared their experiences in media relations as diplomats, journalists and authors. It was mentioned in the panel that meetings like that had not been possible in the past, Turkey-Greece relations had improved and CSOs had been leading in that process. During the question-answer session, the power of media; advantages of using this power effectively; steps that need to be taken to preserve mutual tangible and intangible values; and the importance of being a conscious reader were discussed.

Kyriakos Loukakis, Greek Ambassador to Turkey who participated in the panel talked about common values Turkish and Greek societies shared. He stated that civil society organizations were important in developing a dialogue between two countries and they wished such projects would continue in the future.
