We want ramps, not stairs!

Close your eyes, forget about your legs, leave your mind aside, or hear nothing for a while. You don’t have to be disabled to stand for the rights of people with disabilities; just feel and defend their right to independent living in society.

The European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) which is a Europe-wide civil society network, implemented the “Independent Living Network” Project under the scope of Civil Society Dialogue. The right to independent living of people with disabilities were analyzed from a European perspective and a road map for Turkey was established.

The closing event of the project was held today in Ankara Holiday Inn Hotel with the participation of activists from Turkey and Europe, and representatives from public and civil organizations.

The panelists include a wide range of participants from Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to Ministry of Family and Social Policies, and from Engelli Kadin Dernegi to Delegation of the European Union to Turkey.
